74th Independence Day |Amid Pandemic

Today is the day we pay our respects to our beautiful nation. We have a rich culture and heritage, so let’s celebrate it today. May this Independence Day be special for you and your loved ones. 

The theme for Independence Day: ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT

Flag hoisting will take place at 7:30 AM

Amid Pandemic | Experience The New Celebration Style,  This Independence Day

 

SCHEDULE FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

  • The Red Fort would include a guard of honor by three branches of the military – the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy – with 22 soldiers and officers to take part.
  • 350 Delhi Police personnel will be present and also 32 soldiers and officers will take part in the national salute.
  • During this ceremony, soldiers will follow social distancing and will stand in four lines.
  • 1500 people are invited there and no school children are allowed to participate in any of the Red fort events.
  • 500 NCC (National Cadet Corps) members will be allowed and they have to maintain six feet distance from each other.
  • Restriction on media during the ceremony- only those who will test negative is allowed.

DELHI ADVISORY |WHICH ROADS ARE CLOSED ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

  • According to the advisory, the general traffic around Lal Qila will be closed from 4 am to 10 am
  • Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishadraj Marg, Espland Road and Link Road of Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT, Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover will be closed to the general public from four in the morning to 10 in the morning.
  • If vehicles are not having parking labels they should avoid these routes-  C- Hexagon India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, W Point, A point Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, BSZ Marg, Subhash Marg, J.L. Nehru Marg and Ring Road between Nizamuddin Bridge and ISBT bridge and Outer Ring Road from IP Flyover through Salimgarh Bypass to ISBT. 
  • Alternative routes for railway stations, hospitals and bus bases will be open near the venue of the Independence Day celebrations.
